Every brand has a top of the line. For Voyage-Air Guitar, that is the VAOM-2C. This instrument is both a strummer and a fingerstyle players dream. Featuring a slightly wider 1-3/4" fretboard that makes it easy to play fast, intricate passages and a cutaway design of the body affords easy reach to the highest frets. The VAOM-2C is a full-size traditional "OM" style guitar crafted of the finest tonewoods: Solid East-Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, Solid Sitka Spruce for the top, and Solid African Mahogany for the neck, along with a solid Rosewood fretboard.
The hand carved Rosewood back and sides make for a deep and articulated resonance to the tone, and the Solid Sitka Spruce top brings on soaring sustain, clarity of tone and harmonics. Players of all levels are constantly surprised and blown away by the depth of the tone from our VAOM-2C!
The VAOM-2C has become a favorite on the stage and in the studio – it easily compares with the finest offerings of the other Major Brand manufacturers. The no-compromise construction includes deluxe appointments like an Abalone rosette, inlaid green Abalone position markers on the fretboard, gold-plated precision tuners with ebonized pegs, and a solid bone compensated bridge/saddle. The VAOM-2C is beautiful and easy to play, yet with a distinct sonic signature that only comes from a hand built solid body.

I just got the guitar. It is killer..... I like it better than my $2000 Taylor...wow. I thought it would be just some wood you could take with you. The highs are crisp and the low has a martin snap.

I attached a quick piece I did on my cell phone.
It was so easy popping her into the overhead compartment. Such a relief not having to relegate one of my babies to being tossed about by a baggage handler. Before I got my Voyage-Air, I had stopped traveling on planes with a guitar. Too great a risk of loss. Now, I'm back in the saddle.

The reason for buying a guitar like this is to have a high quality, "road warrior" instrument. It will out perform 3/4 size guitars (such as Baby Taylors and Little Martins).it works well and sports rich tone and good playability. The instrument itself has a nice rosette and bindings, and doesn't have the nasal sound of instruments built from composite materials.

I am a research scientist turned businessman born in Alaska who moved to Australia to work in the Nerve-Muscle Research Centre of Excellence and then went on to create business enterprises in science, finance, defense and for social benefit. My family were professional musicians for 3 generations so in a sense I¹m the black sheep by not being professional. I principally play guitar and a few other instruments with friends for my own pleasure. My Voyage-Air guitar is a Premier Series VAOM-2C which I bought in Hilo Hawaii last April when I was there for the 50th anniversary Merry Monarch festival and it has been with me since then to Australia, California, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Holland, France, Greece, Switzerland, California, Hawaii, Australia, Hawaii, California, Argentina, Uruguay, Falkland Islands , Antarctica, Argentina, Chile, Peru, California, Louisiana, New York, California, Hawaii, and now back to Australia. 18 unique countries on 4 continents in11 months.

This guitar is so much better than the lower end Martin's and Taylors. I've owned Martin, Taylors, Santa Cruz, Breedlove and Huss and Dalton guitars. This holds its own against Martins or Taylors and for the price is also a pretty darn good value considering that the neck folds up for travel. I wouldn't have a problem using it for gigs.

As the owner for over 30 guitars I can stay that that this is best travel guitar made. The folding neck functions well and is easy to deploy. The backpack is very functional and it will fit in the overhead bin of any full size air plane. The guitar body looks just as good as any Martin or Taylor. The body is fully bound and the binding is quality. The rosette, while not being very detailed looks better than most guitar in the price range. The top, sides and back are well finished with no flaws. The neck has a matte finish which is common with guitars in this price range. The neck is somewhat beefy which is what I like. The fretboard quality is above average. This is hands down the best travel guitar that I've played.

I have to say that I do not think of the VAOM-2C as a travel guitar per se. I think of it as a really great sounding and feeling guitar that just happens to have extremely well designed travel capabilities. It is the best travel design I’ve ever seen and is completely worth the price. I would take this guitar into a studio, on stage or a road trip without hesitation…..it’s that good.

The Voyage Air Guitar VAOM-2C is one of those rare products that you buy because it's a portable travel guitar, but then you keep playing it all the time because it's also your best guitar.

I've had one of their high-end VAOM-2C for over two years. It has never failed me, and I use it on stage every Sunday with our church worship team, and I'm very picky about how a guitar sounds when I play. It fits neatly in the trunk of the car (otherwise, a full-size dreadnought would take up the entire trunk of my Saturn car). This is not hype or BS; they have a lot of info and customer testimonials on this clever folding guitar. I agree with most of what they say, and the guitar is great, killer even though it folds. Play one to believe is all I can say, so I'm a very satisfied and happy owner.
