These guitars have great sound!

I bought the basic Transit Series guitar online a couple of years ago. As soon as I tried it, my first thought was, “If I had known it would sound this good, I would have spent more money and got an even better one.” Every guitarist I know has been impressed with how good this sounds. I finally realized it would be easy to find someone to take this off my hands if I got a new one.

So now I have the Premier Cutaway, VAOM-3CG2. I noticed right away that it seems to do a very sophisticated job of distributing the tone from the bass strings to the treble strings. I changed the strings from light (VoyageAir strings, .011 to .050) to Medium (.012 to .054), and now it is easy to hear the difference in tone between the low strings and high strings. I brought it to the club where I play solo regularly, and the people who know my style and sound noticed it too. The sound is very rich, great for finger-style playing. I can use it to make big sounds or play lyrically. I always thought that classical guitars were required for that kind of variation, but now I can do it with steel strings.

Thank you, VoyageAir!

Hi, I have my VA since 2013 and bought it in USA. I had first an old Suzuki guitar for traveling. And as they wanted to pay for it when I had a flight to Teneriffa sold my guitar in Tenriffa and bought me that VAOM-02.

Since than I never had any problems with it by traveling with guitar. I checked it against other traveling guitars and it’s really the best!

Much better sound as any other traveling guitar!

Hey,
So happy to hear from you guys. And congratulations on your weathering the storm.
I am down here in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and doing a lot of live performance, in no small part, thanks to a Voyage Air Guitar that I’ve had for quite a number of years.
I have always been amazed by the sound that this guitar produces. Admittedly, I have changed the electronics to a Fishman hybrid pick up and has REALLY sent it into the stratosphere.  :)
Best of luck to you all!!
Ken.

Dear Voyage Air Guitar staff,

You repeatedly ask your customers for their story with the foldable guitars.

You’ve got me finally, here’s mine:

I always loved to play guitar especially at my holiday locations. I was really tired of squeezing that little children’s guitar into my baggage when I stumbled upon your guitars.

I ordered a VAOM-04 in January 2018, and ever since it was a breeze to carry a full sized guitar with folded neck as carry-on baggage onto the plane. Wow, what a change!

The folks at customs still give me odd looks sometimes, but more out of curiosity than suspicion.

I spend my holidays in Matala- a little fisherman’s village at the south coast of the Isle of Crete in the Mediterranean.

Greek mythology tells that Zeus abducted beautiful Europe in the shape of a white bull and went ashore in Matala bay, where they made love.

But the little village is really famous for the thousands of hippies who sought refuge, peace and love in the 60s and 70s, in the stone caves above the sea. Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens walked on Matala beach, each meeting his own love story there.

I dared to take up these stories and made a song of it to catch the very special feeling of this place.

You can watch the music video on YouTube. The acoustic guitar parts are all played on the Voyage air guitar with its crispy clear sound.
The guitar is accompanied by traditional Cretan instruments played to perfection by Giannis Xaralampakis, a brilliant Greek musician, and a good friend.

I am Mick Melt, and I hope you will enjoy my song:

Dear Voyage Air staff,

I took the BelAir and made it into a Pro guitar. Thought you might like to see a couple pics.

  • Replaced the pickups with Monty’s Guitars London, England, handmade PAF replicas (arguably the best in the world).
  • Also, from Monty’s, 50’s wiring loom, pots, NOS capacitor.
  • Cut and painted pickguard with new knobs.
  • New pickup rings, and locking Gotoh tuners. (For personal taste, slightly aged top with minor sanding and sanded gloss off on head.)

Now…it’s a professional guitar, with the ingenious Voyage-air folding neck.

Best regards,
Steve G.
