Treating the acoustic guitar more like a piano and drum, musician Henry Nam channels his experiences of living and traveling around the world into his music.

Born in the Republic of Korea, raised in San Francisco, Germany, and Washington DC, and currently based in Philadelphia, Nam is the product of an international, multicultural upbringing that not only reflects in diverse musical stylings but also in his attitudes about the role of music and the arts as a language able to break down social barriers and connect people across the globe.

His solo project, Sheltered Turtle, materializes this vision through collaborations with a diverse array of artists ranging from Native American flutists to dancers to poets in local art scenes. Nam is currently in studio recording a series of six concept EPs of new and unrecorded material.
