Voyage Air Antarctic trip

Dear Voyager Guitars,

I recently enjoyed reading about the Voyage Air Antarctic trip and thought it might be appropriate to share a few pictures of my own Voyager’s rather unusual travels.

My Voyager has accompanied me to many, many countries over the years and has been a wonderful traveling companion.

These photos show a particularly happy trip from Aberdeen into the High Arctic / Inner Arctic Circle aboard a polar expedition. The guitar travelled with me through Svalbard and was played at over 80° North (photo attached of the ship’s navigation system). It made me wonder whether this might be among the closest any of your instruments has ever been played to the North Pole.

As a singer-guitarist, having a genuinely travel-friendly instrument that still feels musical enough to actually enjoy playing has been a real joy, and my Voyager has been part of many memorable moments around the world.

Sadly, the story had a rather tragic ending when the guitar suffered catastrophic damage after the trip — but before I get to that, I thought you might enjoy seeing where one of your instruments had been.

Best wishes,
Gordon Mark Webber
