Jim “Moose” Brown is a session musician, record producer, songwriter in Nashville, TN. As a “live” musician Moose toured with Bob Seger as a member of the Silver Bullet Band on the 2006-2007 “Face The Promise” tour and the current 2011 tour playing electric guitar and keyboards. As a session player he has played on over 20 #1 singles, recording with artists: Brad Paisley, Phil Vassar, Darryl Worley, Trace Atkins, Craig Morgan, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Jamey Johnson, Steve Holy, Chely Wright, Trick Pony, Bob Seger, Trent Tomlinson, Marty Stuart, Darius Rucker, Ricky Skaggs, Bobby Osborne, Connie Smith, Lila McCann, Justin Moore, Rodney Atkins, Hank Williams Jr., Willie Nelson, Billy Gibbons, Heartland, Paul Overstreet, Doug Stone, Mark Chesnutt, Bucky Covington, Chris Young, Patti Loveless, The Whites, Lee Brice, Danielle Peck, Kris Kristofferson, Patti Griffin, Ritchie McDonald, John Hiatt, Joe Diffie, Randy Houser, and others. Moose was nominated for Keyboard Player Of The Year by the Academy of Country Music in 2005, 2006 and 2011. Moose played on the movie soundtracks of “Varsity Blues” “Cars” and recently “Country Strong” and the upcoming “Cars 2”.
As a songwriter Moose won the Grammy award for Best Country Song for co-writing “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere”. In 2003 it was the most played song on country radio and went to #17 on the pop charts. Moose also co-wrote the top ten hit for Darryl Worley “If Something Should Happen” as well as the recent James Otto single “For You”. He’s had songs recorded by: Martina Mcbride, James Otto, James Wesley, Josh Turner, Terri Clark, Julie Roberts, Darryl Worley, Jamey Johnson and others.As a record producer Moose co-produced the Darryl Worley album “Sounds Like Life” which featured the top ten hit “Sounds Like Life To Me”, and he also co-produced the critically acclaimed album by Jamey Johnson “That Lonesome Song” which features the top 10 single “In Color”. The Grammy nominated album went Gold and is approaching Platinum sales. Moose also co-produced Jamey’s newest certified Gold double album “The Guitar Song”, which was grammy nominated for best country album.
Jim “Moose” Brown was inducted into the Arkansas Entertainer’s Hall of Fame in 2010.
